Coho Concrete Pumping Ltd.  is seeking experienced Concrete Pump Operators to join our team.  We are a locally owned company that has served the greater Victoria area for over 3 decades.

 

Concrete Pump Operator must be able to handle complex concrete mixing and pumping machinery, while ensuring that all safety requirements are met. The work requires a fair bit of physically activity, teamwork, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely on construction sites.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must have good communication and ability to work with contractor and other members of the team in a professional manner

• Good knowledge of concrete and concrete properties.

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required

• Perform a variety of tasks or operate other equipment as needed around the shop or at customer sites.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that concrete pumps are safe to drive and operate.

• Drive concrete pump trucks to and from each project site in a punctual, safe and responsible manner.

• Evaluate site conditions and work with contractors and Sales Manager on set-up considerations.

• Safely operate boom and concrete pump to place concrete in desired locations.

• Load and unload concrete pump hoses and clamps, and ensure that all associated tools are used in a safe manner

• Clean Concrete Pumps at the completion of each job; refuel, and fill water tanks at the end of the day to ensure that they remain in good working condition, and to minimize breakdowns and downtimes

• Coordinate efforts with other team members or contractors to ensure a friendly working environment.

 

Employment Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Pass a Drug Test

• Clean commercial driver’s license

• Knowledge and experience operating concrete pumps

• Understanding and knowledge of concrete and the concrete industry

• Mechanically inclined

• Team player
